Cookie notice
How the Sentinet³ website handles cookies and how you can manage them from your browser.
This is a courtesy translation. In case of discrepancy, the Italian version prevails. Read the Italian version.
This website is owned by Fata Informatica S.r.l., data controller under Article 4(7) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679. This notice explains which cookies are used and how users can control them.
In brief
- The website is static and only loads resources hosted on the website itself: texts, images, style sheets, fonts and scripts.
- It does not use profiling cookies, analytics cookies or statistics tools such as Google Analytics.
- It does not embed third-party content, such as videos, maps, buttons or social network widgets, and therefore does not allow third parties to set cookies through its pages.
- It contains no contact forms or newsletter subscription services.
For these reasons, browsing does not require any consent to cookies.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text strings that the websites visited send to the user’s device (usually to the browser), where they are stored and then sent back to the same websites on the next visit. They are mainly used to adapt the way the website works to the user’s expectations, for example by remembering choices made previously.
For proper regulation it is useful to distinguish between them:
- Technical cookies: used to transmit a communication over an electronic communications network or to provide a service explicitly requested by the user, such as browsing or session cookies and functionality cookies. Their use does not require the user’s consent. Any technical cookies strictly necessary for the website to work fall into this category.
- Third-party cookies: set by domains other than that of the website visited and often used to track online behaviour and personalise advertising. This website does not use them.
- Profiling cookies: create profiles of the user in order to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed while browsing. This website does not use them.
For cookies that require consent, Article 22 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and Article 122 of the Italian Personal Data Protection Code apply.
Links to external websites
The website contains simple links to the Sentinet³ profiles on LinkedIn, YouTube and Facebook and a link to Google Maps. These are ordinary links: no content from these platforms is loaded until the user decides to open them. Once the external website is reached, data processing is governed by that platform’s privacy and cookie notices.
Methods and purposes of processing browsing data
The information is processed automatically and collected in aggregate form only, to check that the website works correctly and for security reasons, on the basis of the controller’s legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679.
For security purposes (spam filters, firewalls, virus detection), the automatically recorded data may also include personal data such as the IP address, which may be used, in accordance with applicable laws, to block attempts to damage the website or harm other users, or any other harmful or criminal activities. These data are never used to identify or profile the user, but only to protect the website and its users.
The data collected during the operation of the website are used solely for these purposes and retained for the time strictly necessary, and in any case for no longer than 10 years. They are never provided to third parties, for any reason, except upon a lawful request by the judicial authority and only in the cases provided for by law.
Data security and withdrawal of consent
The website processes users’ data lawfully and fairly, adopting appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorised access, disclosure, modification or unauthorised destruction of data. Processing is carried out with IT and/or telematic tools, with organisational methods and logic strictly related to the purposes indicated.
In addition to the controller, in some cases categories of authorised persons involved in the organisation of the website (administrative, sales and legal staff, system administrators) may have access to the data.
As provided for by the Regulation, under Article 6(3), any consent given for one or more purposes may be withdrawn at any time, in whole or in part, without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent given before its withdrawal. To do so, simply contact the controller by email to the privacy office.
How to manage cookies from your browser
You can block or delete cookies by following your browser’s instructions, usually in the “Help”, “Tools” or “Settings” menus. Disabling a cookie or a category of cookies does not remove them from the browser: they must be deleted using the clear cookies command. Below are the instructions for the most common browsers:
- Chrome: support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647
- Firefox: support.mozilla.org
- Safari: support.apple.com/kb/PH17191
