A leading player in Italian broadcasting
Rai Way owns the RAI signal transmission and broadcasting network, with more than 50 years of service to radio and television. It manages a technical heritage of know-how and infrastructure through which it guarantees citizens the public service of the RAI television and radio networks.
It draws on the experience of converting the RAI broadcasting and transmission network to digital terrestrial: in a very short time, with the commitment of all company departments, it met the statutory objectives, completing the national television switch-off within the required deadlines.
This experience underpins the services offered to customers who need to carry audio and video signals, connecting the venues of major events with newsrooms, workstations or end users’ homes.
A single system for all production
The Rai Way IT infrastructure operates on three levels: development, testing and production. The production level is extremely complex and structured and uses a multitude of systems: Windows Server 2008 and 2003, Hyper-V, VMware, Oracle, SQL Server and System Center Data Protection Manager.
Rai Way decided to rely on Sentinet³ as a system able to control its entire production infrastructure, both at headquarters and at the branch sites.
The transmission stations of the Hyperlan network
With Sentinet³, Rai Way also monitors the signal transmission stations for the Hyperlan network.
